Pricing is too high for a habit app, around $10 a month
From 3 comments
"A simple way"..that costs $10 a month. This price point is set ridiculously high, sorry.
sjftokyo on HN$10 a month for yet another streak-focused app I’ll drop in two weeks... sorry, pass. I can see why the trial is 7 days though.
toyg on HNThis being a vitamin app, I’m not gonna put down my credit card. I would have tried this, if it didn’t require a card, and maybe a longer trial would be nice.

Trial requires credit card or up-front commitment
From 3 comments
I think you are loosing a lot of potential customers by forcing everyone to commit up front.

Void_ on HNLooks good. Tried to signup for "the trial", but after verifying my address and logging in. It seems I HAVE to subscribe to "trial" it ? Is this correct ?

Streak-based chains cause discouragement when broken
From 3 comments
"Don't break the chain" is the absolute worst system for me to form a habit. As soon as the chain is broken, I'm never going to pick it up again.
learnstats2 on HNThis thing where you are supposed to take satisfaction from looking at a "chain" of repeated tasks on your calendar and feeling so bad for "breaking" the streak that you'll keep…
toyg on HNI completely agree. If you just look at it as a system, it’s completely unstable. When do I most need support in my habits? When something goes wrong and I miss a day. When does…

Graphics render badly on mobile and Safari

Viewing the graphics for this article on mobile was an adventure in digital distortion.
crsv on HNThe graphics were unreadable for me as well. I'm running Safari 14.0 on macOS 10.15.6

Offer a free tier or trial without credit card
From 3 comments
This is something I would definitely try if you had a free tier (just to get a feel of the app, maybe restricted to 1-2 goals) or at least a free trial without CC info/commitment.
occamschainsaw on HNI would really suggest to get a free tier or let accounts live for a while without CC info. seems very cool

Not a bad idea. When do you plan to add a privacy policy?

I also went to sign-up, but balked when I couldn't use social sign in (I don't like having to make more account with passwords)

Is this based on James Clear's Atomic Habits?
From 1 comment
This is based on the James Clear ideas? A lot of things in the frontpage looks like his book "Atomic Habits".
