What HN said

What people liked

  • Funny and quirky

    From 3 comments
    • I like this a lot more than I probably should. It's quirky, fun, and possibly useful.
      bovermyer on HN
    • Good job! Kinda funny!

    • This is funny to me. I needed that laugh. I wonder if there's something to it? Being able to complete tasks does feel good especially 6 out of 6.

  • Design and copy are well done

    From 1 comment
    • I love the design of everything (web page, app screenshots, copy). I'm going to take notes for my own app. :)

Objections

  • iOS only; no web or Android version yet

    From 4 comments
    • I like the concept, I'd like to try this, but I don't have an iPhone. Do you plan on creating a web/Android version?
      yamrzou on HN
    • Absolutely! I'll just let the iOS users find all the bugs first ;)

    • That's cool and all but what about web app or Android?

    • In the making! I'll just let the iOS users find all the bugs first ;)

  • Web page uses lots of CPU and has a horizontal scrollbar in Firefox

    From 1 comment
    • Merely having this website in the foreground uses up almost 10% of my CPU. Also, it has a horizontal scrollbar (at least in Firefox). The idea is funny, though.

  • Page would not load for one commenter

    From 1 comment
    • The page won't load for me, and I'm not sure if that's the joke.

    • As simple as it is, it seems like a good candidate for a progressive web app. Then everyone can have it.

  • Are tasks chosen at random from a database of everyday tasks?

Alternatives named

  • Tab manager extensions such as OneTab and Tabler

    From 2 comments
    • Sir, it sounds to me like you could use a tab manager extension. May I recommend https://tabler.one
      natannikolic on HN
    • OneTab is pretty decent and I think it's in a similar vein: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/onetab/
